2007

In 2007, entrants submitted not a single piece of work, but a portfolio. The winning Short Story portfolio was by Peter Bromley, (second prize Xenia Taiga), and the winning Poetry Portfolio was by Graham Clifford (second prize Sean Burn).

The Flash Competition was won by Jacqui Winn for Nothing Happens (read her story here), with Second Prize going to Beda Higgins for Leaving Me. In addition, the judges awarded a Special Prize for Children's Story to The Magic Bubble Maker by Alan G Cooke.

2006

The 2006 Short Story Competition was won by Ann Newbegin, with her story On New Street. Second Prize went to Wes Lee for Deliverance and Third Prize to Kate Simpkins for That Greek Girl.

2005

First Prize in the 2005 Short Story Competition went to Sally Zigmond for Sailing to Byzantium. She received £1,000 plus a contract to write either a collection of short stories or a novella. Sally has opted for the novella, and Chasing Angels has since been published by Biscuit Publishing. Jay Boyer took Second Prize of £250 (whatever that is in US dollars!) for Sad Little Stories to Tell while Pauline Plummer came Third with What you Need for Happiness, and received £100. All of the winning stories plus a magnificent seven Highly Commended stories are published by Biscuit Publishing in The Devil's Bathtub (read the Judges' remarks about the winners).

The 2005 Poetry Competition imposed the theme "Challenge"; the winner was Bernadette Cremin.

2004

The Prizewinners' Anthology for 2004 contains poetry by: Angela Readman, Sean burn, A. C. Clarke, Kate Fox, Asit Maitra, John Cartmel-Crossley, Honor Donnelly, Fiona Durance, Jacqueline Karp, Ann Kelley, Carla Jetko, Matt Merritt, Sue Moules, Keith Porritt, Marlynn Rosario, Andrew Smith, Margaret A. Speak, Mario Bester-Sproul, Simon Stewart and J. Dalton-Taylor.

It publishes short stories by outright winner Gillian Garnham as well as Jay Boyer, Peter Bromley, James McKinty, Ellen Phethean, Betty Weiner, Laura Wigg, Paul Blaney, Dominy Clements, Alison Earls, Romi Jones, Mary Ann Kurtz, William Little, Leela McDougal, Celia Meade, Silvia Sbaraini, Anjan Sundaram, Chris Turner, Keith Wright, and Sally Zigmond.

2003

The Winner of the Short Story Competition was Veronica Lloyd for her short story: Adrift, from Belize to Havana. Also commended in the fiction competition were Cat Newman, Aine Maire Chadwick, Mick Parkin, Stephen Wade, John C. Anderson, Beda Higgins, Tom Bryan, Wendy Klein, Colette O'Hare, Kevin Outlaw, Tracey Fuller, Chrissie Gittins, Tim Bragg, Jan Lovell, Chris Sewart, Candi Miller, Noreen Rees, Mark s, and Josephine M. Fagan.

The winning poet was Bob Beagrie, with commendations for Kate Rhodes, Beda Higgins, David Grubb, Sylvia Goodman, Margaret Wilmot, Mike Barlow, Penny Feinstein, Margaret Perry, Fay Marshall, Gerard Melia, A. C. Clarke, John Lindley, Chris McCabe, Janet Loverseed, Doreen Hinchliffe, Chris Kinsey, Sonia Royal, Chris Beckett and Anna Woodford.
